Carmen Ramirez-Boyd

APRN
Director of Education and Accreditation

Carmen received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) in May 2000 from Youngstown State University in Youngstown, Ohio, and her Master of Science in Nursing in May 2008 from Kent State University in Kent, Ohio. She also completed the certified dermatology training program, DermWise. She has been a Nurse Practitioner for nearly 18 years, with 14 of those years dedicated to the field of dermatology.

She is nationally certified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) and is an active member of several professional organizations, including the NP Society of the Dermatology Nurses Association (DNA), the Florida Association of Nurse Practitioners (FLANP), and the Society of Dermatology Nurse Practitioners (SDNP). From 2012 to 2020, she was also a Fellow of the American Society of Laser Medicine and Surgery (ASLMS).

She regularly served as a guest lecturer for graduate Nurse Practitioner students at both Youngstown State University and Kent State University. In addition to her professional work, she finds great pride and passion in participating in humanitarian mission trips with her family. She has taken part in various missions across Central America and Puerto Rico.

What she enjoys most about dermatology is the challenge of diagnosing and managing complex cases. She is passionate about treating a wide range of skin conditions and has a special interest in chronic diseases such as psoriasis. Helping patients maintain hope and quality of life despite chronic illness is deeply rewarding to her. She also finds great joy in treating teens and young adults with acne—ensuring they feel confident during major life moments like homecoming, prom, senior pictures, and even their wedding day. Seeing their smiles and restored confidence at the end of treatment is one of the most fulfilling parts of her work.
